Burning Earth

Division III (Ages 14-18)

Through the melting clock, the rate at which we are losing our precious time is made very clear. The background of this image shows a raging fire which has been a pressing issue for a long time now. From the huge ones like the Amazon rainforest wildfires or the Australian Bush fires to the comparatively smaller ones in Ukraine, each wildfire has had devastating effects. Nature has been destroyed greatly by these, leaving us with only ruins. Though, one thing that has survived through all the wreckage are the man-made substances that have been causing such incidents in the first place. I have tried to depict this by the smaller drawing of the plastics, cars and other objects in the midst of the fire, unharmed. Moreover, the girl in the drawing has her hands outstretched, showing us what exactly is at stake. Through the means of this girl, I have shown how the future generations are imploring us to preserve the beauty of this Earth and I hope that this very scene will encourage people to take action for our planet.
