With this painting, I want to raise awareness of the various environmental issues that the world is facing at the moment and highlight the urgent need to take action against them before irreversible damages are caused that will not even heal over time. Being inhabitants of the planet Earth, we have to be considerate of how our actions impact the place we are living in. The truth of the matter is that the Earth is suffering because of us humans, however, many of us go on with our days as if this problem is none of our concern and do not acknowledge the worsening situation. People have to realise that with every second passing, thousands of animals are going extinct, and nature is being destroyed. The main reason is mankind’s selfish behavior. We have to do something about it before it is too late! My painting consists of a digitally drawn broken clock and skull, and multiple digital photos shattered in pieces. Each piece represents some of the most important environmental issues the world is currently facing, such as global warming or air/water/plastic pollution, etc. caused by mankind. The broken clock symbolizes the earth as a ticking time-bomb. If we continue to live life as we are doing at the moment, the time until the earth is destroyed and becomes uninhabitable will increasingly shorten. Soon the damage, which is symbolised by the shattered prices, will be destroyed to the extent where it is irreparable. The skull symbolises that more death will occur if we do nothing to help. I hope that my painting will encourage people to remember how much our earth needs us and inspire them to help solve these problems!
