Division III (Ages 14-18)

There's no time to waste because biodiversity is on the the brink of extinction even before we could discover the 8.7 million life forms on earth. The life forms depicted on the right half of my painting signifies the topmost endangered species around the World. The Sandglass represents the emergent need of saving these lives. The ones in black at the bottom of the Sandglass contains some of the extinct life forms on earth. The coloured ones at the top would soon be extinct and this sequence would soon have man at the bottom of the sandglass . This is indeed important to young students like me as we are the future who should ensure mother earth's persistance for our kids.We must learn to respect and love the life forms that share the world with us,be it trees, pets, wild animals or humans ... I tried bringing in many endangered species including; the Javan Rhinoceros,Kipunji,Giant Panda,Red eyed tree frog(It's habitat is highly endangered ), Humpback whale and so on... I hope this painting would raise awareness among those who view it and would drive them towards conservation of species right from the root level.I aim to create a positive domino effect amongst kids, students and all elders.
