Eco-Art Competition 2022

My work relates to the Plant the Seed theme as it depicts a girl sitting down in a room full of plants. She realizes the importance of nature and its role in our life. With the realization, the girl begins to share concerns about the destruction of the environment that happens every so often that will affect everyone in Iona term. For example, the large number of trees that are cut down yearly. With that, she begins planting and growing seeds during her spare time. Having the passion to help the environment, she keeps plants around her room as a reminder that everyone can help the environment by planting and growing seeds. Deforestation is an important environmental issue that is ought to be addressed as quickly as possible as it not only brings harm to nature but also to everyone in the long run. Trees help to absorb as well as store carbon dioxide, and when taken down, they release carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas which can harm the environment. Deforestation can also lead to climate change, desertification, soil erosion and more. Not only that, it can also harm animals and cause a drop in their population as they are forced to leave the area I have used Dual Tip Markers and colour pencils for this work as they provide nice and smooth colour. Besides that, the colour comes in many different shades that help me to complete my work as well as provide a nice detailing and touch. Micron Pens are also used as they provide a nice outline. With this work, I hope to inspire others to realize the importance of nature and begin planting as deforestation is still happening around the world. Deforestation is no joke and it could affect everyone in the long term.
