Division II (Ages 10-13)

My drawing has a big tree, cities, landfills, pollution, and water tubes. The big tree in the middle represents the earth, and it has branches to give energy to cities and holds the world. Because the cities created pollution and landfills, I use tubes to connect the rubbish back to the tree. This symbolizes the cities however are adding burdens to the tree and slowly harming the earth. My drawing is sarcastic because its portraits how it is like a cycle. One day, pollution will take over while the tree has no more resources to give, our earth will fall down. The reason that I make my drawing black and white is that I hope to tell my audience the danger of pollution, and how dirty the air had become. It creates a serious mood in my drawing. I believe that by adding the small region that recycles their rubbish and create less pollution to the right side of the tree, can bring hope to my audience, while the other polluted cities will alert readers and let them feel the importance of protecting our earth.
