My painting is a reflection on the global "seeding" actions. It seems that at the moment, the slogan "Save the earth by planting trees" has become an appeal that does not need to be questioned. However, many large-scale tree planting programs carried out under this kind of widespread appeal have been unsatisfactory. The reason is that most of them lack in-depth research on the overall ecosystem and awe of the complexity of nature. The forest is far from being composed of a single kind of tree matrix, it is a three-dimensional ecosystem that accommodates a variety of interdependent plants and animals. Therefore, in my painting, I used the anthropomorphic image of trees, depicting queues of many same tree people, symbolizing those "forests" that people quickly planned and planted uniformly, while using different symbols on their chests to symbolize there are more diverse species that should have naturally grown on the original land. This also reminds me of the many hidden worries described in Guy Debord’s book 《The Society of the Spectacle》: " In life, if people completely obey the rule of the spectacle and gradually move away from all possible personal experiences, and thus it becomes more and more difficult to find personal preferences, then this state of existence will inevitably lead to the obliteration of individuality.” In the same way, we can see that if the extensive "seeding" is still obsessed with this useless state, we will gradually move away from the expected reality and get lost in the fog of personality lessness. I hope my work can arouse viewers’ deep thoughts. What is the ecological environment we need?
