Division I (Ages 5-9)

I draw a beautiful morning in the woods after the rain. I call it “The Crystal Woods”! The sparkling grass and leaves look greener and the sunshine on the trees are like flowing crown. I love to explore the woods. I can always see different things every single time: the small animals, different insects and plants. I am sure there are few bunnies live in the woods and we saw a group of turkey traveling around many times. No matter how hot in the summer, walking in the woods is always cool and nice. The woods are quiet but you can hear kids’ laugh from neighbors and the birds singing. At night, I am sure I heard owls! Trees are one of the most elements of the world because trees not only provide nutrition to other plants, shades to animal and human beings, but also make the air fresher, the earth prettier. It is important for me because the woods is just behind our house, walking in the woods make me so happy. I hope more people can enjoy the beauty of nature and always breath with fresh air! I used colored pencil for most of the parts and use water color for the background. I added some pink on the sky because that’s the color I could see in the summer twilight. I heard some people who live in the big city have very few trees but cars and air pollution. When they see my picture, I hope they can protect the forest, plant more trees in the city or everywhere in the world.
