Division III (Ages 14-18)

3 million masks are being thrown away every minute. Masks are made from plastic and paper. With this plus the litter from before, How bad will the future be? In my artwork, “Taking A Walk?” You can see this displayed and the effects. You can see the use of masks/gas masks in my artwork. The meaning behind these is to show what is happening in our generations/ future generations. If people don't become more aware of something as little as a mask for our own protection, how could we become aware of the effects of our actions/environment? Since the masks are made from trees, we are killing our own trees/environments. We could fix these by changing our actions and planting more trees. I also use the color yellow for grass and a sheep for the head. The yellow symbolizes the decay of the grass and nature if we continue not caring. And the sheep symbolizes how the purity of the world will continue to be ruined by our choices. This is important to me and you because a simple walk is something that our children and future generations might not be able to take. These actions are affecting us today but are going to affect the future generations even more. Our grandkids will be the ones who won't be able to breathe in the next few years. I Hope this affects the ones who view this by realizing that these actions aren’t affecting them but their future generations and the innocent children. Thus everyone should be more cautious, if not for ourselves but more for the future generations. If we can't breathe 100% now imagine what it will be for the future generations? Something as simple as walking is something they won't be able to enjoy.
