In Mothers of Nature, the illustration depicts two women planting and caring for the world around them. One is planting trees, and the other is providing water for the world around her. The lore of this illustration is that the tallest mountains are goddesses who humans called “mothers”, who created our world and the life around us. They provided life and solitude amongst the lands. Many of these earth goddesses have jobs to keep everything balanced. The goddesses shown depict two jobs — planting and watering trees. The trees are the seedlings that they’ve planted to help the world thrive. They also symbolize people looking to change our world and restore life on Earth. This illustration shows the importance of making a change for the better of our world and life as we know it. I used these goddesses to show that if you care for nature, you become one with nature. Once you’re involved and have contributed to the changing of life around us, only then are you truly connected to nature. Mothers of Nature shows people that if they want to better the world and its wonders, they must be the first to begin the change.
