Division III (Ages 14-18)

On the vast fields, sunflower seeds break through the soil, absorb nutrients from nature, and grow wild in the sunshine. However, the sun will not always shine as the sky will not always be clear. In the absence of sunshine, sunflowers still grow and bloom by dint of the power from the seeds. Over the last two years, there have been trials and tribulations in my life. Again and again, they beat me to the ground, and I could hardly move; yet again and again, I wiped away my tears, dusted myself, and stood up bravely. There have been seeds of hope in my heart, powerful enough to help me against the wind and rain along the way. I hope when people see this painting, they can also understand that life is not always easy. Trials and tribulations may be God’s gift to test our will. If this is the case, let us always keep the seeds of hope and face our life with a smile.
