Eco-Art Competition.

I believe that my artwork relates to the theme of the competition because it displays the environmental issue of our rainforests providing the majority of our oxygen. Without our rainforests we could not survive hence the saying “rainforests are the lungs of the earth”. This issue is important to me because there have recently been massive forest fires in Brazil and the amazon rainforest causing major devastation. I used spray paint and hand cut and drawn stencils to create a galaxy background, vibrant earth, and a pair of lungs placed on top of the earth displaying the words rainforest, bronchiole branches, and leaves. I wanted to make the message of this piece very clear so people would immediately understand the impact of the rainforest on the earth. I hope that when people view this piece they will grow understanding for how the rainforest needs our help. I hope it raises awareness for the fires still burning in the amazon rainforest.
