2020 - Division II (Grades 4-8)

My project is about cutting down trees. 70 percent of the Earth’s land animals and plants live in the forest and many will not be able to survive if the forest is destroyed with no trees. Cutting down trees is necessary to produce wood for construction, paper, and other things. Unfortunately, cutting many trees can impact the environment badly. Plants create oxygen and absorb gases from the environment. This is very important because with no trees the temperature can change and many animals can die and may increase global warming. I took a picture of a cut-down tree. I hope by seeing this there will be less cutting trees and maybe construction companies can use other materials to build houses instead of wood so that we can have more trees in the forest. Recycling paper will also help reduce cutting down trees.
