2021 - Division III (Ages 14-18)

“The Being We Hurt” is an illustration of a human face that represents our waters, the ocean. The painting illustrates what we have polluted, the animals are dying in their reality because our methods of disposal have led us into this crisis. The coral on the chin of the head is not harmed by our toxic disposal, but what has begun will not stop but only continue to conquer the oceans unless we take action. That is the sole purpose to why the world can’t waste time as this large crisis in the world is trivial to all others. We will be compelled to lifeless waters if our actions are not taken into consideration of our being(the oceans). I decided to use acrylic paint for this project because how I use the brush to paint my piece seemed to remind me of the ocean and the waves of the shore. I
