2021 - Division III (Ages 14-18)

My project is an hourglass filled with trash and nature. An hourglass represents time an it can be turned over to start again. Even though we have a lot of trash in the world there is still time to fix it. However, it is not a lot of time and unlike your typical hourglass once Earth’s hourglass gets filled with trash there it no way for it to turn back over. Once we have completely polluted the Earth, we all die. This is important to me because I want future generations to see how I saw it in my childhood. I was able to go to an unpolluted beach. It was okay for me to eat the white snow. I didn’t have to worry about whether or not the fish I fished from the river was poisoned or not. I used colored pencils and markers to communicate my message. I believe my entry will get people thinking amount the amount of time they have to live and the amount of time the Earth has before it becomes inhabitable.
