2021 - Division III (Ages 14-18)

I used techniques to create the harsh lighting that runs all though this forest scene to create this feeling of timelessness to contrast with the melancholy feeling of a distant memory of something that used to be. With mass deforestation within many different industries it truly isn't impossible to foresee a future where beautiful, deep, and healthy forests are only a memory. All environmental issues are important to me but deforestation in particular has always been something that has struck my heart. Forest and greenery along with the wildlife it holds has always been something that impacted my life in many ways especially with my art. When creating I always seem to find myself wanting to create a beautiful forest within my creations, so to think about a world without one of my biggest muses destroys my heart. Not to mention the extreme impact on any wildlife that rely on these very specific environments. This piece was done digitally with a digital drawing application called Procreate. I can only hope that when people view my art their able to form the same connection with the environment as i do and strive to help in any ways they can, whether that be spreading information or aiding directly to anti deforestation institutions.
