Division IV (Ages 19-22)

Global Warming is threatening the existence of human race on the Earth. Human species are now endangered in their own hand. It is a pity that the same hands could create a world of harmony avoiding a disaster. Amidst the darkness of extreme weather a pair of hands can switch on light by planting seeds. The idea that putting on light (plant the seed) can only remove the darkness (environmental catastrophe) can save our planet, the only planet that can sustain life. It is important to aware people in as many possible ways as can be. I have tried my own. I hope that people will choose the ON button of the torch instead of keeping it OFF. I hope that they will choose to plant seeds and use renewable energy sources instead of burning fossil fuels. The only hope (kept inside the central circle) against the environmental disasters (extreme weather shown around the circle) is the choice of ours in the right direction. The ‘light of hope’ can be put ‘ON’ or ‘OFF’ by a button. The ‘darkness of climate change’ can be removed by a ‘right choice’. Planting seeds can reverse the change of climate. We are on the verge of a point of no return. We must act now to save ourselves. Nothing can be more important than saving the environment right now because no issue can be more important than that of our own existence. I have used simple oil pastel colour pencils to make this drawing. I hope that my drawing will remind the viewers about the nature of severity of the climate change and also the fact that the choice of reversing the effect remains in their own hands.
