Division IV (Ages 19-22)

Plants are the most essential living part of the mother nature. It is the small seed, from which all plants and trees of the nature are reproduced. From oxygen, flowers, to paper, plants and trees provide us with numerous and unconditional benefits. But with due course of time, increase in pollution and industrial activities have caused massive destruction and cutting of plants and trees. In my art work, I have shown how cutting down of trees due to industrialisation and construction of building and roadways have increased environmental pollution. With this I have shown the impacts of cutting down of trees on the nature and wildlife. Trees and plants are known to regulate the balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide as well as temperature of the earth. They are also known to maintain precipitation on the earth. With the increased cutting down of trees for industries and construction works, environmental hazards have increased a lot. Environmental hazards such as forest fire and droughts have caused extinction to many wildlife and dangerous to human life as well. The environmental issue I have shown in my art work illustrates the cause and harmful impact of decreased plant population. This is very important because hazards like forest fire causes many serious problems like global warming, biodiversity loss and extinction of wildlife. This spreads an important message regarding the need for plantation in today’s world. Planting a seed to reproduce a plant not only provides us with numerous benefits but also protects the earth and other wildlife from various dangers. My concept of “Plant the seed” theme will provide a visualisation for the importance of plantation to the environment as well as how by planting a small seed we can avoid various natural and man-made environmental disasters.
