Division III (Ages 14-18)

In the most recent twenty years, people have realized the impact of greenhouse gases from factory or vehicle emissions, whereas the effectiveness of world organizations' warnings is low. There were times in the past when we human beings had the chance to save the environment, and it might be harder to achieve now. This is where my artwork related to the theme, "Plant the Seed”. My artwork depicted the condition of the polluted environment by human activities. I applied a kind of "fish-eye" lens to form an effect of "focusing", which enlarge the long-term toxic emissions accumulated by humans in nature. The trees above have all withered, symbolizing that it is too late for human beings to "save nature", and the chances of future change seem slight. This primary idea within the work is to make people value the importance of activating actual plans to save nature or prevent further pollution. The purpose shows essentialness to me because I am one of the generations that will use the environment, either personal-wise or career-wise, and it is my wish that maybe there is a chance for the future generations to enjoy and use the clean environment. The theme "Plant the Seed" is an aim; maybe people can try to do something and prevent more toxic gases from emitting.
