Division III (Ages 14-18)

My painting, Green Eternity, showcases an environmental theme of 'Plant the Seed' in its verdant and emerald hues. The artwork includes various types of plants, celebrating diversity in our plant life, and the green shades show the unity of flora across the world; while the mandala art in the middle shows that if everyone puts their will towards it, we can achieve our goal of afforestation. The environment has given so much to us, everyone says it, but I reinstate the statement that cannot be denied. If you look outside to where the dewdrops gather on grass, or where the sunlight falls in gentle rays, or even in the hues of our own houseplants, the beauty and necessity of maintaining this planet's most unique treasure is restored in our minds. When people gaze upon my artwork, I sincerely hope that they have an enduring urge to plant seeds and saplings, or even take care of the greenery in their surroundings- and those who have done that, they feel a sense of pride and accomplishment for lending a hand in one of the 21st century's most important missions. My artwork is simple, because I believe simplicity is the key to inspiration and good communication, but I hope it is remembered even if it gets no prize, because the goal, the driving determination to make a change in the number of plant life in the world is what matters the most to me, and my method of conveying it is through my painting. Thank you.
