Division I (Ages 5-9)

The name of my work is “A Beautiful World”. Through my work, I would like to plant the seed of preserving nature and protecting the environment in everyone’s heart. This idea is important to me because our planet is our home and we only have one earth. Nature has given us the essential resources for our survival and living, such as water, air, fuel and food. That is to say, nature is vital to human existence. When people see my work, I hope they take proactive and immediate actions to conserve nature and also tell their friends to do so. In my work, there is a happy little girl standing under the blue cloudy sky and looking at two butterflies staying on her index finger. The little girl with a pure heart sees a beautiful world as a graceful forest waterfall in the beautiful wings of butterflies. She enjoys living in such a beautiful world which not only makes her happier, but also makes her mind healthier. I believe that is the same feeling most people would have when they experience the beauty of nature. The little girl represents the normal person like you and me who sometimes feels helpless and powerless to do things that really matter. And the forest waterfall and butterflies represent the beautiful nature. When people view my work, I hope they see the same beauty as the little girl does. Then, they would start actively participating in various activities to protect the environment and ecosystems whether through small actions or large initiatives. We should keep in mind that everyone could make an impact on conserving nature. Let us work together to build a beautiful world for us and our future generation.
