Division III (Ages 14-18)

In this art, I wanted to represent our near future if we don't plant the seed. When we plant the seed, the plants grow. When plants grow, they produce oxygen. With that oxygen, us humans breathe and stay alive. Without oxygen, us humans won't be able to breathe, and die. Nowadays, people don't plant the seeds much. Instead, they cut the plants down to make factories, cities, etc. With no plants, there won't be any oxygen. That is our future and what is represented in my art. In the background, there are a group of people crammed in a small space upside-down. They are all colored in a dark tone. It represents the apocalypse of human kind due to lack of oxygen. Infront, there are the blocks and the human head representing the survivors. Although they survived, they have no oxygen. They are left with no hope. Even within the survivors, they are on different levels. The ones that are above and those who are on the ground. The one above is the person who acknowledged the problem beforehand and prepared for it. The people on the ground are the ones who ignored the warnings. In a short period of time, the people on ground will be the part of the background. They will die. This might sound like a situation only in this art piece. But it’s not. It’s the reality. We will face a lack of oxygen if we don’t plant the seeds. But there is a chance to stop this art from becoming reality. People need to raise their attention and be the person above everyone. Altogether if we plant seeds, we will be able to change the world and our future. It can’t be just one person or organization. We need everyone to make a change.
