Division I (Ages 5-9)

What's fuzzy and cuddly and like to sleep in trees? A Koala! These special animals have captured my heart for being so cute and unique, when I visited San Diego Zoo, last year. In recent years there have been many Wildfires. Australian wildlife suffered a lot due to these fires. Thousands of Koalas have been killed by wildfires and most of their habitat has been destroyed. They are starving and has no place to go. They face many threats including climate change, fires and housing. My artwork represents the helpless Koala facing habitat destruction due to wildfire. I love animals and it makes me so sad to see them hurt. My idea of making this art is to protect them and I hope my artwork inspire people to save them and their habitat. Together we can change it. Saving Koalas begin with simple action like growing more trees, encouraging families to recycle or to save water and electricity. plant a seed, it would add up a lot of help for the environment. plant a tree and Save a Koala!
