Division II (Ages 10-13)

My art has a lot of meaning. The circle is the seed, and it represents our bright future if we act our part. It is being planted by two human hands, in the midst of our current world with factories, smoke, dead trees, and disaster. This environmental issue is important to me because everyone needs to know about climate change, and sometimes pictures and artwork speaks to people more than words. Planting a single seed in our world will make a huge impact on the planet. I used many artistic elements in my message. I used Prismacolor Color Pencils and a black marker to make the seed the focal point, and to make it colorful and cheery, as if we act our part our future will look like the future in the seed. In the background, I used watercolors to have a dreary effect as the world we have now. The hands are holding the seed meaning that we are the ones that need to make a change to improve our future. I want people to know when they see my art that we need to work together to make an impact on Earth. Climate Change is happening, and we are running out of time. If we work together, climate change does not stand a chance against us.
