Division I (Ages 5-9)

My work shows a girl gracefully planting a seed that sprouts a jungle. The jungle starts off small and grows larger over time. I drew animals along with the tree because plants and animals rely on each other. This represents the theme Plant the Seed because a small act like planting a seed can make a big difference. It can grow a tree which can be a home to many animals. Seeing the planet suffer from pollution and litter is sad, and we all can play a small part that can determine a better future for all life on Earth. I want to see the jungle grow bigger and stronger in my lifetime, so this is important to me. I added lightning to the picture to represent that even on the brightest days there can be hard times and sometimes good can come from that. I added lots of color to show that one small seed can brighten someone’s day. I hope that when people look at my painting they will want to help the planet and make a difference. This can start with one small seed.
