My art Piece shows a dying plant on a cut slab of wood. Just this alone shows how the worlds resources are being taken for granted and discarded like they never even had a purpose. The window in my art shows the window of opportunity letting us change are ways and how we treat the world. The plant boxes are the blossoms that we create representing new habits and learning from our mistakes. All the plants are still growing, not fully grown and the grass is short to show that we will never be done coming up with new ideas on how to treat our planet better and there is always room to grow and create. I think that this is an important issue because our actions and choices effect everything around us. All of our habits and daily routines hurt the earth and everything living on it not just people. And working towards something bigger than just our selves will build a better community for future generations even if it’s just by a little bit. The experience of walking in a rain forest or in a field of flowers is magical and we can’t take that away. The walls in my art are gray to also remind people that has been hurt in ways that we can not take back or change and that in the future, we need to think before we act. I hope that when people see my work, they will take the time to think about how they are not just a person that can’t do anything to help. I want people to think that they can make a difference because everyone can.
