This artwork as a whole is demonstrating what it could look like for humans and the rest of nature to live in harmony. The various plants throughout the ecosystem are not only thriving on their own, but also with the civilization around them. The background being black and empty emphasizes this idea as a beacon of light and life. The scene is small compared to the size of Earth, because it is only a seed for a utopia. This issue is important to me not only because lack of care for the planet is devastating but also because with proper care, we can have something truly befitting of the word "beautiful". The way the plants are twining across the architecture in unpredictable but careful lines- sometimes cutting across the more rigid lines of the buildings- communicates a sense of unity. When others view this painting, I would like them to really picture a world filled with care for our planet. If their minds could use this picture as a stepping stone for their imaginations, I would be very happy.
