Eco-Art Competition.

The environmental themes relate to the theme through the protest for our one earth and the destruction of important things related to the climate crisis and its juxtaposition to the burning earth. Both the protests and the important agreements and trusts such as the Paris Climate Agreement, showcase how our leaders are ignoring the citizens’ request for definitive climate action.The protests especially show how we recognize that the earth is our home to protect. The issue displayed, the apathy of our leaders in the face of the crisis in favor of money, is important to me because I will be living in the future as the crisis escalates due to lack of action now. Me and my peers will be directly impacted by continuing escalation of climate disaster and will face health and economic crises. I showed money stuffed into President Trump’s ears and rising as “smoke” from the agreements to symbolize how leaders benefit short term monetarily from ignoring the crisis and destroying efforts to combat it, a message that I hope will resonate with the viewer, and influence their choices at the voting station. Overall, I want my entry to affect viewers by encouraging them to act for themselves, as leaders and elected officials have failed us. I want them to join the voices pictured until they cannot be ignored, and enact change with their vote.
