2020 - Division II (Grades 4-8)

My artwork is about the fire and darkness taking over the world. The space is polluted and there is lots of debris and trash, the water has become fire the land has become dry and dirty. On the very small piece that is beautiful, the water is clean and the land is green with plants and life. The space on the good side is prepossessing. This is simulating what the world could potentially look like if we don’t take care of the Earth. There won’t be one single beautiful, living thing. We must cut our trash production if we can’t do that we can at least recycle things, use reusable everyday items. I feel like this will open people's eyes to the real world by seeing that the darkness will take over if we don’t take care of where we live. The media that I used is colored pencil along with a bit of pen. I created this by layering colors and then blending them together. I outlined the debris and the land with pen. The elements and principles that I used are: line, shape, form, color, balance, proportion, harmony, unity, and variety.
