My artwork is about the relationship between humans and the environment and the sea; it links to the topic by emphasising the need of protecting the wild and mother nature, as well as ensuring the safety of the animals. This topic is significant to me because I find the element of nature and animals intriguing and such a beautiful thing, and it saddens me to see it harmed, therefore I want to alter that and maintain these wonderful creations. I did this by painting a women that is surrounded by koi fish that is not bothered by her presence. The woman is gracefully resting there while the fish gently swim around and through her, demonstrating that humans and nature are one and that they both benefit from one another's existence, hence it should be protected. I picked bright colours to represent the concept that if this is done, both humans and Mother Nature would have a bright future. I also made the women naked to propose the idea of us being in our natural state just like everything else in the environment. I believe that those who view this piece will feel euphoria from the bright colours and a sense of calm from the presence of nature and animals within humans, feeling comforted and wanting to keep this sense of happiness, so they will strive to protect mother nature and make a change, plant a seed.
