Division II (Ages 10-13)

Mother Earth is our home so it must be protected. The message needs to be spread through others so that they could do something about it, especially to the younger generation so that they could do something about it right now or when they grow older. As kids, we need to help the best we can for the environment because we are the new generation and it is our responsibility to make a better future for the other generations to come. So I want to show in my drawing that through the teachings of a teacher or parents who speak up about the environment and teach the young, will help them get inspired to do good for the environment. The plants on the people’s heads represent the knowledge and the kindness of theirs, whilst the golden seeds show that the knowledge is being spread to those who will bring change to the future. These seeds also represent kindness and inspiration that will be planted in the children’s heart and when nurtured properly, will bloom when they grow up. And then the right side shows the future, when those kids get older and have their own careers, the kindness in their hearts remains and their concern for the environment will resonate in every work that they do. They will now be the ones spreading seeds to the people they encounter everyday. I want my drawing to portray that anything you do will affect the environment. No job is too big or too small to create positive change. Because even small things when done collectively will bring big results. Everyone has a contribution to make. Everyone can make a difference.
