Division II (Ages 10-13)

In this painting there is an hourglass, the top half a beautiful tree and the bottom half, lifeless stumps in a desolate environment. Around the glass are forest animals, watching through the glass as their forest home slowly is destroyed and cut down, bit by bit. To the side, there are a pair of hands holding a tiny sapling, a spark of life. The hourglass represents the future for the animals in the forest if we don't stop uprooting trees; while the little hands planting the sprout carries a message: that we should sow more seeds to grow new life for the planet and its inhabitants, to replenish the earth and make it a better place for future generations.
