Division III (Ages 14-18)

A growth of delicate flowers amidst the chaos of human emotion. A stark contrast between the mundane expression of humans. The beauty and tranquility one can only find in natural flora. A beauty so fragile and fleeting. Flowers do nothing but bring beauty in this world. Helping every ecosystem, individual animal. We give and receive them to those we love to share their beauty. To admire them. With the tribulations of everyday lives, looking at our flowers gives us a feeling of calm. The eye of the storm. A sort of sanctuary. They must be protected, we must recognise the importance of them. I used stippling through etching to create this piece and photoshop to edit my personal photography. I decided to omit colour from this print to show that this is not meant to be a beautiful work to be admired, but rather a more hopeful piece that will spark hope in others.
