Do You Care?!

Division II (Ages 10-13)

My piece represents two futures which could grow from the seed of our actions today: one of peace and life if we quickly and radically change our energy sources, methods of transport and a basic part of our modern world: consumerism. The other shows what will happen if we continue “business as usual”: death, destruction, searing heat and war over ever-diminishing resources. On one side the seed is vibrant and colorful and on the other side even it is deadened and black. The name “Do You Care?!” is directed at world political and business leaders about their children and their children’s children whose world will be a hell on earth if they don’t act fast. A plea to world leaders: “think about something other than the most money you can get in the next week, please!” I hope this will communicate to the viewer the need to take responsibility immediately to protect earth. (By the way I advise to take a piece of paper and look at the piece only on one side and then on the other)
