Division II (Ages 10-13)

In this artwork, the baby is the “seed” and the hope of a better world. I hope the baby can grow happily in a cleaner and healthier world which has a tear shape with bright and beautiful colors. We plant the seed to get rid of environmental disasters, such as various levels of pollution and unpleasant climate changes, which can harm not only humans but also endangered animals. The environmental issue is important to me because if we can plant a seed of hope and start better habits, we will live on a healthier and happier earth. In my art piece, I used a crying tree, fires, and a sad Koala to represent wildfires in Australia. I used smoke and air pollution from factories, a car, and a house to represent environmental challenges. I used litters in the ocean and on the beach to illustrate various levels of pollution. In the center of the artwork, I drew a lovely newborn baby connecting to a healthier and happier world with harmonized characters and colors to express the hope of a better world. I see this entry affecting those who view it because the environmental issues are strongly contrasted with the inspiration of a better world to encourage the change of our life on earth.
