Division II (Ages 10-13)

My work shows how different people treat the tree differently. The girl on the left is sitting under the tree peacefully and reading. Her background is a nice sunny day with clouds and flowers. The man on the right, who is a lumberjack, is cutting the nice, healthy tree down. His environment is polluted and dark. I really like plants, even if I can’t take care of them. Even when I was young, I always found great interest in them and found their growth magnificent, however, seeing them being cut down like this hurts my heart. The issue is that if we continue to pollute the environment, the consequences may be worse than the man’s environment on the right. I hope when people see my work, they will start to clean up the environment for the good of the earth, so that we might have a new environment of plants, animals, and maybe even develop new medicine that we can use to cure the sick. When people view this entry, they might realize the importance of trees and see that we should do everything we can to protect them.
