2021 - Division III (Ages 14-18)

In my art work, the world is slowly decaying. This symbolizes the time we are running out of to save the world. If we don’t stop polluting and littering the earth it will eventually die. The world is in the shell of a turtle because wildlife is the future of the world. Animals do nothing but keep the world balanced, whether it's in the ecosystem, or keeping the world clean. The animals of the earth make up the earth. And the world decaying is the pollution slowly but surely killing the world. In other words, the world is running out of time. This environmental issue is important to me because of the fact that the earth is our home, and if we keep on the path we are on, the humans and wildlife of the world won’t survive. Climate change is a big example of this problem. In the middle of January, some days I can go outside in just a sweatshirt sweatshirt and be a little warm. That shouldn’t be happening in the middle of January. The temperature of the world is increasing. And that just doesn’t and shouldn’t sit right with me. To communicate my message I used simple pen and paper. I used this medium because it seemed like the most effective way to get the message across. I hope that my artwork helps people realize that the Earth isn’t getting any better. The temperature is getting hotter, the ice caps are melting, and the landfills are getting bigger. None of these things help us or the animals survive. And unless we do something no one is gonna make it.
