2021 - Division III (Ages 14-18)

In my art piece I put earth and the time it has left in the metaphorical hands of humanity. Personally I can see that global warming has become a serious problem and as I grow up I realize that I want the world to be in better shape than what it is now when my kids grow up. I want my kids to be able to live life without having to worry about problems like the flint Michigan water crisis or have to watch a U.S state sink into the ocean. So to get the message across to the viewer I made my art resemble street art like some graffiti on a brick wall. I believe things in that nature always get the point across better and would make it feel more “down to earth” than some elaborate art piece in which you have to think harder about the meaning to understand it. When people see my piece I want them to see that we have made earth hot and we shouldn’t be happy about it. I want them to see the watch in the hand and think about the time restraint we are on as a society to fix out problems.
