2021 - Division II (Ages 10-13)

To represent contamination in the sea, what I drew was half a dolphin and half a plastic bottle. My project is related to “no time to waste” because it explains that nowadays there are two different realities, one of them is the contamination in the world and the second one is the beautiful world with no contamination. I am worried about the contamination in the sea and wanted to show what is happening to try stopping this problem in some way. Due to contamination, many animals and organisms in the sea are dying and the ecosystem underwater can get to die forever. This art project has two sides, the dolphin side is with bright colors for showing how amazing nature is and the tones give a happy feeling. The side of the plastic bottle is with dark colors, specially with black to show the impact and how the contamination affects the environment. The elements and symbols inside the bottle are things that impact and kill the ecosystem such as bottles, plastic bags, boxes, cans and nets. Inside the part of the dolphin there are symbols such as trees, leaves, mountains, birds and water. In the background I chose to include some plastics in the contaminated side to show how the ocean looks with all the contamination and as well for the clean part all is perfect as it was at the beginning. In conclusion, this drawing shows both realities, the contamination and the world with no contamination. The contamination will continue expanding and will make a bigger impact if we don’t take care and try to stop the problem. In my art project there are specific things that go with each side to show how it looks like. So, if we want to make a change, don’t waste time.
