Division II (Ages 10-13)

In my work, I depicted a flower growing out of the ground, the roots that connect the flower itself to the seed, and a bird nearby. This was to show that seeds are so much more than what they seem to be at first glance. This environmental issue is important to me because plants are important. Plants such as trees can provide fresher air, and plants like vegetables and fruits provide food. In my artwork, I attempted to show how a plant can have an impact on the earth, bringing together plants and animals and how they work together to flourish. My intention for the people who see my work was for them to see the correlation between two different types of nature and how a seed or two can spark that interaction. I hoped for this artwork to inspire others to plant more seeds, and that my work showed someone that a seed can bring so much more than just a pretty piece of grass.
