Division I (Ages 5-9)

In this painting, I present a girl who lives in a smoky polluted city and is holding a seed in a crystal ball. Through the crystal ball, She sees a beautiful world with a clear sky, green pasture, and clean water. She really wants her city to be a better place to live—with clean and clear air just like the world in this crystal ball. She also wants this seed to be planted in such a better world. At the same time, she thinks this seed is more than just a seed; it is a hope that can grow into a greener future. This idea is important to me because some people live in smoky areas and suffer from the polluted environment, but wherever people live, and no matter how the environment would be, we might find a living thing that is young and tender but lasts longer than we think. They are fighting terrible situations. Like us human beings, they deserve a better life. I hope my work can tell people that even small things, like taking care of a tiny seed, can make a difference to our environment.
